Storage Tips for RVs, Motor Homes & Trailers

Keep it Clean: Ensure your unit is clean and dry both inside and out for the best storage experience. Remove all garbage and perishables. Clean surfaces with mild soapy water to eliminate sunscreen lotions and oils, which can cause mold and mildew. Avoid using Armor-All. Spray the interior with Lysol Disinfectant.
Seal and Protect: Ensure all windows and vents are tightly closed. Use Damp Rid desiccant products to absorb moisture, placing them securely on the floor or in the sink. Label any personal wheel chocks or hitch blocks left with your unit. Remove all valuables before storage.

Place crumpled newspaper in the refrigerator and freezer along with baking soda.
Remove bed linens and clothing items from beds and closets as they can hold moisture.
Remove external propane tanks.
Disconnect all batteries not utilized for parking and remove the batteries from the smoke alarms.
Utilize outside storage areas for camp chairs and any items that hold moisture.
If moving in late in the season, utilize your heater on the way to drop-off to remove moisture from your unit.
Remove sway bars and Hensley hitches securing them in your unit until spring.
Motorhomes: internal propane tanks need to be shut off.
Motorhomes: must leave a spare set of keys in the event we need to move your vehicle.

Single covers should be left loose to allow proper air circulation.
Shrink wrap is not recommended in humidity-controlled storage.

Don’t Forget to Take Your EZ Pass
Check your fluids to make sure you have no leaks and add a fuel stabilizer to your gas tank.
Do not utilize your parking brake during storage.
Batteries will need to be disconnected once parked.
Covers are recommended for dust control.
A spare set of keys must be left with us in the event we need to move your vehicle.
